Awards Ceremony

This past Saturday was the annual eighth grade "banquet" and middle school awards ceremony. It's a time to honor the eighth graders and send them off to high school, and also to recognize top scholars in 6th and 7th grade. The fun begins at dinner, where the eighth graders arrive in their finest, and some look as though they've experienced an extreme makeover!!

Who are you, and what have you done with my boys?

The Course Evaluation [disclaimer: long post ahead]

At the end of each semester, BFA encourages us teachers to spend time in reflection. This comes in the form of a slew of evaluation forms: personal evaluations, supervisor evaluations, general evaluations of everything from administration to teacher resources... Check. Check. Check. The list goes on and on. But nothing compares to the one that strikes fear into the heart of every teacher: the Course Evaluation.

Lugano 2011 - Day 4

Sadly, our time together in Lugano had to come to an end. On Friday the kids did a super speedy job cleaning up the entire hostel and then we packed up the vans to head out. Our first stop was the Alprose Schokoland chocolate factory.

Lugano 2011 - Day 1

On Tuesday morning we departed for the annual eighth grade Lugano trip. We began by loading up the vans, counting the kids, and praying with Mr. Powers.
