David replied, "Metal."
[Typical.]
We waited to see what Dad had up his sleeve. Suddenly found ourselves soaking in the sounds of John Phillip Sousa's all-American marches.
Technically, brass IS a type of metal, though not quite what David was expecting.
When "Stars and Stripes Forever" began, we began to sing along. Did you know there are words to that song? I learned them as a kid.
In case you missed it:
Be kind to your web-footed friends
For a duck may be somebody's mother
Be kind to your friends in the swamp
Where the weather is very very damp
You may think that this is the end
Well, it is.
The song has been in my head for three days now.
